REPUBLIC OF Nepal is finally taking birth today. Our nearest neighbour, the only Hindu country of world is one the verge of finally ending its 250 years old monarchy. People of world’s newest republic are in mood of rejoice on the road of our tiny neighbouring country. The seven party alliances are giving conclusive shape to federal democratic republic system in Nepal. The landlocked South Asian nation is home of over 2.95 crore of people with per capita income of US Dollars1500, which put the country at 164 ranked country of the world.

It was decided in the general election held in April this year that King Gyanendra has to vacate his palace for Maoist leader of Nepal, Prachanda. The Maoist group of Nepal has finally come out of the forest of Nepal after a 10 year fight with the monarchy rule. On Tuesday 575 members out of 601, sworn in the newest formed Assembly. The Assembly will rewrite the new constitution of Nepal.

Amid the trepid and qualm of western media, the upcoming Maoist are promising sweeping changes in Nepal. It is being watched closely by world body like United Nations (UN) as what the changes are being taking place under the leadership of Maoist who once knew the language of arm and bomb only.

Any political activities in Nepal have always been a closed watch for New Delhi. India should welcome the genesis of new republic besides it. Nepal will be run by the Communist Party of Nepal, and this will bring uneasy calm for government of India. Nepal is bordered in its northeast by our arch rival Red country China and certainly overnment of Republic of China will be heartily welcoming formation of a Red Governed country in the era when ‘red’ is almost disappearing from the world map.

China itself has come out of the so called Maoist era and several of its policies are capitalist decision only. Once owning private properties in China was seen with great suspicion and now the Chinese economy is market driven economy and rich people are being counted in the country. Interestingly, the Chinese economy is the most favorite destination of wealthiest nation of the world which makes a trillion dollar reserve for the country.

India has been having close ties with the beautiful Himalayan country. In accordance with a long standing treaty Indian and Nepalese citizen may travel to each other’s country without any valid passport and visa. Huge numbers of Nepalese students are utilising special quotas given in the educational and technical institute across all over India. The relation between India and Nepal is so close that people in India never felt that Nepal is a different country altogether, thanks to the submissive and honest culture of the people of Nepal. But the change in regime in Nepal may bring some changes in this relation also as the upcoming government in Nepal may see this long relation in the term of ‘dependency’ or in more crude term as ‘mercy’.

Very recently Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the easy remittance facility from India to Nepal. Nepalese working in India can send money to Nepal through National Electronics Fund Transfer (NEFT) through 44,000 branches of banks, which are participating in NEFT in India.
